The months of April and May 2021 saw India face a brutal second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. At its peak India saw more than 400,000 new cases of Covid-19 every day with more than 4,000 daily deaths reported during this period. Even as experts debate the actual number of cases or deaths in the country in this wave, speculation is rife about the timing and magnitude of a third wave of the pandemic in India.
