Explained: Why The Gairsain Move By The Trivendra Singh Rawat Government Is Making Headlines In Uttarakhand by Sumati Mehrishi - Mar 8, 2021 12:13 PM Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. Snapshot The BJP is moving one step closer to fulfilling its vision on Gairsain through administration changes. The declaration of Gairsain as the third commissionerate has seen the Congress and the AAP opposing the move. Last week, the Trivendra Singh Rawat-led government in Uttarakhand made an announcement. Gairsain was declared a new administrative division of the state, a third commissionerate. A commissioner and a DIG will be deployed in Gairsain. The ‘surprise’ announcement (as how a section of the media sees it) has come after Garsain was declared as Uttarakhand s summer capital last year. The mandal is an assimilation of two districts each from Garhwal mandal and Kumaon mandal. These are: Almora and Bageshwar (in Kumaon) and Rudrapyarag and Chamoli (in Garhwal).

by Sumati Mehrishi - Jan 8, 2021 01:17 PM Yamkeshwar (Uttarakhand) MLA, Ritu Khanduri. Snapshot “Whatever work we are assigned, big or small, we do it well,” says the Uttarakhand BJP Mahila Morcha president about the women of Uttarakhand. In December 2020, the ‘Yamkeshwar Express’ was unveiled in Uttarakhand s Pauri Garhwal region. This small milestone marked a new beginning. Many children living in Yamkeshwar had never seen a train, just as others living in the region. Work on the ambitious Yognagri-Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project is ongoing in the cradle of tough geographies, and trains are a thing of fantasy even today. So, when the children got the first glimpse of the gorgeous new ‘Yamkeshwar Express’, they became pretty thrilled. The blue of its compartments is particularly appealing. It is stationary, yet it is ready to leave for other stations.
