Selectmen Chairman Jackie Belf-Becker read the proclamation that stated the town is a welcoming community that celebrates and promotes diversity and inclusion and is committed to equal rights and opportunities for all. Built in 12th century, remains of Kendal Castle are still in the town to this day. Although it is now just a ruin, Kendal Castle still provides a great trip for visitors. Alongside the castle, there are stunning views over Kendal and the Lakes. It is ideal for a day out accompanied by a picnic, where you can enjoy the scenery from the top of the castle. In the lower slopes there are wooded walks for anyone looking for a gentle stroll. However, there is not just one castle that you can explore in Kendal. Castle Howe is the remnants of the town’s first ever castle.
