Joanna McNeill just wishes someone had told her.
Told her that even though she worked in administration, the dust she would inhale from the nearby quarry would leave her lungs scarred.
Told her that as the years progressed, her lung capacity would diminish and she would one day struggle to breathe.
Joanna McNeill returned to work after maternity leave but soon found out she was very sick.(9News) This is a life sentence for me and I don t know when my time is up, she told 9News.
When Mrs McNeill returned to her admin position after maternity leave, she underwent a health assessment.
The late John Joseph McNeill OAM was an old-fashioned romantic, dedicated grandfather and a champion of the Habana community. He passed away on November 14, aged 74, from jaundice and gall stones which had developed in his kidney and liver. His surviving wife Joyce McNeill said she met the Mackay local during his three-year posting to England in 1971 after he had served in the Vietnam War.
