Netflix and Gold House launch ‘Netflix Gold’ project to amplify API stories, artists, creators is partnering with Gold House to amplify cultural stories that engage the API community and celebrate diversity in storytelling.
The partnership: Gold House is a nonprofit collective of influential API founders, creative voices and leaders dedicated to authentic representation and equality in society.
The project, titled “Netflix Gold,” aims to highlight the narratives of artists and creators within the API community and allows Gold House to expand its audience beyond films for Asian audiences.
Although Netflix has worked with Gold House on previous films, such as “Over the Moon” and “The Half of It,” this partnership is the first time the nonprofit collective has worked with a producer or distributor on a long-term collaboration.
With more places lifting guidelines and regulations, many are starting to see the revival and eager reopening of movie theaters. Although many cinemas only have a select list to choose from, many films have stuck to the reliable online debut with increased rental prices for those who truly want to get a first-look at the newest releases.
“Monday,” starring Denise Gough (“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”) and Sebastian Stan (“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”), was one of these films that relied on a solely online release. Directed and co-written by Argyris Papadimitropoulos, the Greek native portrays Greece in an intoxicating light as the drama follows a passionate couple over the course of a year since their initial one-night stand and weekends that follow.
