Malam Isa Gusau. Zulum, who commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the choice of Yahaya, said the development showed the Buhari’s consistency and commitment in combatting insurgency in the North East. “
With the appointment of General Yahaya, the country has retained the advantage of having in place service chiefs who have all served in Borno and have sufficient operational knowledge in the fight against Boko Haram and ISWAP.
“While warmly congratulating the new Chief of Army Staff, I will like to gladly acknowledge that Mr President’s choice of Major General Farouk Yahaya, who was in Maiduguri as Theatre Commander of the joint armed forces battle against insurgents,

From the Report
The objective of this evaluation was to determine whether the readiness of the U.S. Navy’s P-8A Poseidon fleet met the anti-submarine warfare (ASW) requirements of the U.S. European Command (USEUCOM).

The P-8A Poseidon is a multi-mission maritime aircraft. Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru died in an air crash in Kaduna on Friday.
Attahiru, a Hausa, was born on August 10, 1966. Intriguingly, he hailed from Doka in Kaduna, the State he passed away.
Attahiru was among the Service Chiefs appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2021.
The rest are General Leo Irabor – Chief of Defence Staff; Vice Admiral A. Z. Gambo – Chief of Naval Staff, and Air Marshal I. O. Amao – Chief of Air Staff.
In four months, the Nigerian Army under Attahiru recorded considerable success. Though troops were lost, several terrorists were eliminated.

Maybe they had, but history must be kind to the former service chiefs. Buratai, for example, unfolded one new strategy after another and on many occasions he personally led troops into battle. The Air Force, on its part, moved under Sadique from a marginal contributor in the fight against Boko Haram to a central factor in recent times. Its daily bombing and strafing campaign against the insurgents has warmed the hearts of Nigerians and has severely degraded the insurgents’ capacity to wa
