TakeOver: Vengeance Day.
Karrion Kross vs. Santos Escobar
Is the Undisputed ERA finished after Adam Cole superkicked NXT champ Finn Bálor & teammate Kyle O’Reilly?
What’s next for Dusty Classic winners Raquel González & Dakota Kai and MSK?
As usual, here are our five questions about NXT tonight:
1) Where do Finn Bálor and the NXT title fit in the pending Adam Cole/Kyle O’Reilly feud?
Yeah, I’m a little bummed Undisputed ERA won’t go The New Day “friends forever” route. But as someone who followed their Ring of Honor come-up and the rivalry that followed there, I have been eagerly anticipating the resumption of hostilities between the duo once known as Future Shock. I think NXT is going to make me wait a little while longer, though.

TakeOver: Vengeance Day special on WWE Network.
It’s the 33rd TakeOver and the brand has yet to put on a bad one. There’s little reason to think this will be the first, but there doesn’t seem to be a tremendous amount of buzz for Vengeance Day. Perhaps it’s because people don’t think the NXT or Women’s titles are likely to change hands. Or maybe it’s because 2/5 of the card features matches for future tag title shots.
Whatever the reason, or even if you’re already FREAKING PUMPED, I figured I’d offer a few things I’m excited for in each match. In addition to the usual Cliffs Notes version of the story behind all five bouts.
You’ll totally guess who advanced in the Dusty Classics on 205 Live

For the past couple Fridays, WWE featured action from the Men’s and Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournaments on
205 Live. It’s the latest attempt to get fans to check out the purple brand on the Network, and perhaps a sign it’s being transitioning from being strictly cruiserweight-focused to NXT’s B-show.
On Fri., Jan. 22, there were two Dusty Classic bouts in
205 Live’s line-up. Each featured one team of well-known names with storylines currently running on Wednesday nights. On the other side of the men’s match was a pair of cruiserweight midcarders. In the women’s match, it was two wrestlers whose signing was just announced this week.
Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic: Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell defeated Gigi Dolin & Cora Jade
205 Live’s first women’s match began with a typical tag team open; a headlock and a pair of quick tags. Jade gained control over LeRae. LeRae took advantage following a Hartwell distraction. Hartwell tagged into the match, landed a sidewalk slam, and tagged LeRae back in.
Jade rocked LeRae with a forearm and secured the hot tag. Hartwell tagged in only to be on the receiving end of Dolin’s leg kicks punctuated with a punt. Jade then rejoined the match, but Hartwell immediately retook control.
