Actor and humanitarian Gary Sinise and his Foundation announce the launch of a cognitive health and mental wellness network providing transformative care to veterans and first responders experiencing post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injuries, and substance abuse: the Gary Sinise Foundation Avalon Network.
The Gary Sinise Foundation Avalon Network builds on the work of the Marcus Institute for Brain Health and the Boulder Crest Foundation’s Warrior PATHH program, and will establish 20 treatment sites nationwide to serve thousands of veterans, first responders, and their families.

HOLYOKE The new owners of Providence Behavioral Health Hospital plan to re-establish inpatient psychiatric care for youth and adults at the newly named MiraVista Behavioral Health and are seeking licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to provide up to 84 beds.

Providence Hospital in Holyoke sold to Health Partners New England

HPNE will operate the facility under the name MiraVista Behavioral Health and resume operations of the Acute Treatment Service (detoxification), Clinical Stabilization Service (post-detoxification), and outpatient services including the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), court ordered services, and the Opioid Treatment Program without interruption of service, according to a statement from Mercy Medical Center.
Additionally, HPNE plans to re-establish inpatient psychiatric services at the Holyoke facility.
Last year, Mercy Medical Center ended inpatient psychiatric services at Providence Behavioral Health Hospital.
HPNE is currently working with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to acquire licensure to provide up to 84 inpatient beds. The timeline for the opening of these inpatient beds is still being determined.
