WI Health Board Holds Annual Public Information Meeting

The West Island Health Board (CIUSSS) held its annual Public information Meeting online recently with almost 200 in attendance. The theme of this year’s meeting was “A Year into the Pandemic: We’re Stronger Together for the Health and Well-being of our Community”. “These past few months will remain etched in our collective memory for years to come,” said Board CEO and President Lynne McVey. “I am proud of the many initiatives involving recruitment, reassignments and health measures. They have undoubtedly contributed to saving many lives.” One of the highlights of the virtual meeting was to “acknowledge the exceptional dedication and work that has been accomplished by the teams at the CIUSSS since the start of the pandemic.”

There are three vaccination sites serving West Island residents While preparations were taking place, the West Island Health Board (CIUSSS) was continuing to vaccinate seniors for the last several weeks.

As of Monday March 1st, the three locations designated to serve West Islanders as COVID 19 vaccinations sites opened. Anyone now aged 70 and over can book an appointment by calling 1.877.644.4545 or by registering online via quebec.ca/vaccinCOVID. When making an appointment, “you should have your health insurance card on hand. When registering, people in this age group will be able to select the date, time, and place for their appointment, West Island Health Board (CIUSSS) spokesperson Hélène Bergeron-Gamache told The Suburban. “For those who cannot book an appointment online or who are unfamiliar with the procedure, we encourage you to ask a loved one for help,” Bergeron-Gamache said.
