Midwest Radio - Mayo TD concerned that some people over 90 and housebound are still waiting for vaccines

Mayo TD concerned that some people over 90 and housebound are still waiting for vaccines Published: Thursday, 08 April 2021 07:41 There are people aged over 90 in Co Mayo who have not yet received any Covid-19 vaccine to date, which is simply not good enough, according to Deputy Rose Conway Walsh. The Sinn Fein TD says she is aware of a 95 year old, house bound woman in the county who is sitting waiting to secure the jab so that she can again be visited by family and friends, and yet she has heard nothing about when she might secure it. The HSE Helpline on vaccine delivery is of no value to these people, the deputy argues,  and it’s frustrating to hear HSE ads on the media outlining that the vaccine rollout is going to plan and under 70s are the next group to receive their jabs.

Sinn Fein host online public meeting this evening on Bank of Ireland closures in Mayo Published: Monday, 08 March 2021 12:51 One week on from the announcement that Bank of Ireland is to close three branches in Co Mayo, Deputy Rose-Conway Walsh and her Sinn Fein colleague Councillor Gerry Murray are hosting an online public meeting this evening, calling for the Bank of Ireland branches to remain open in Ballyhaunis, Charlestown and Kiltimagh. Deputy Conway-Walsh says keeping these branches open is crucial for the local communities, and she believes the Bank of Ireland-  which was bailed out by the Irish people - should not be closing local branches during a pandemic.
