A man has been charged over the discovery of 14.8 pounds of marijuana, valued at $124,000, at Bahamas Customs on University Drive.
Gerran Nottage, of Angel Drive, Eastwood Estates, pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to possess dangerous drugs with intent to supply; possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply; conspiracy to import dangerous drugs and importation of dangerous drugs at his arraignment before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes yesterday.
Prosecutors say that the conspiracy took place between December 23, 2020 and January 13, 2021. The importation and possession occurred on January 13.

A TEENAGER has been sent to prison for allegedly robbing a food store earlier this week.
Malcolm Rolle, 18, appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes, accused of using a gun to rob a cashier at Variety Food Store on December 17.
The prosecution alleged that the accused also assaulted a police officer and attempted to escape lawful custody when he was arrested 10 days later on December 27.
Due to the nature of the armed robbery charge, Rolle was not required to enter a plea. As a result, his case was adjourned to March 19, 2021 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).

A MAN who was caught driving around with a fraudulent license plate was fined $250 in court yesterday.
Walker Bazile, 35, appeared in Magistrates’ Court before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes after he was accused of using a fraudulent license plate on December 4.
The court heard officers were on patrol on Key West Street when they observed a group of males standing around a Honda vehicle.
The prosecution said when the officers attempted to approach the group, all of the men fled. Officers then gave chase and caught the accused, who identified himself as Walker Bazile. He was then taken to his black Honda Accord vehicle where officers contacted their control room to make checks of his license plate.
