“Our children are watching these discourses” NASSAU, BAHAMAS Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) Deputy Leader Chester Cooper yesterday lambasted the government over the abrupt adjournment of parliamentary proceedings. Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) Deputy Leader Chester Cooper, who is also the shadow minister of finance, yesterday urged the government to be proactive regarding the threat of another European Union (EU) blacklisting for jurisdictions with zero-rated corporate taxes. Members of the European Parliament (MEP) last week adopted a resolution to put more pressure on the European Commission to keep “tax havens” blacklisted until they make material legislative changes the EU wants. While the resolution must go through various levels before it becomes law, the EU is seeking to have it enforced before the end of the year.
