BROCKTON An electrical fire temporarily closed the business of KFC and Taco Bell on North Montello Street Wednesday afternoon.
The Brockton Fire Department responded to 875 N. Montello St. at about 12:36 p.m. for a report of a fire coming from the cockloft, Deputy Fire Chief Edward Williams said. The cockloft is the area above the ceiling that leads to the roof and is sometimes referred to as the attic.
The fire is believed to be electrical in nature, Williams said.
Six fire engines and two ladders responded to the scene of the two-alarm fire within three minutes, Williams said. Officials from the Brockton Fire Department, including its fire investigation unit, and city building and electrical inspectors responded.
