School board amends calendar due to snow days
After an unscheduled two-week vacation brought on by snow and ice earlier this month, the Purdy School Board voted to amend its school calendar and schedule make-up days.
Originally, Purdy schools had scheduled professional development days for March 19 and April 5. However, in light of the unscheduled snow days, the school board voted unanimously to reschedule those in-service days as traditional school days.
Board Vice President Ken Terry said the make-up days are necessary to ensure the school meets its state-mandated hours of education for the school year.
The school board also voted unanimously to approve the academic calendar for the 2021-22 school year.
