As veep, Kamala Harris will have every opportunity for clout. Biden, the oldest man to become president, has promised her a prime role. But she faces minefields too.
“When there is a need to be up there to be a tiebreaking vote, of course she will be there. But the administration wants to work with the Senate” to avoid ties, said one of her advisors, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Much of that strategy is pragmatic. Currently, most bills in the Senate require a 60-person majority because of the filibuster rule. Though many Democrats are pushing to change the long-standing rule as it applies to legislation, it’s unclear when or if they will have the votes to do so. Filibusters have already been removed for Cabinet and judicial confirmations.

Training Day actor Dr. Dre was rushed to the hospital from his Los Angeles home on Monday after suffering a brain aneurysm. Following reports spreading of his hospitalization, four men attempted to break into his home in the Brentwood neighborhood on Tuesday night. The burglary was a failed attempt that ended with the cops arriving and the trespassers in custody.
Around 2 a.m, the morning after news had been reported about Dr. Dreâs condition, the group of men stepped onto the rapperâs property. Before they arrived at the main structure on his property, his security apparently spotted them, confronted the four men and called the police. Los Angeles law enforcement arrived at the scene and were involved in a âshort chaseâ before the perpetrators were caught and arrested.

Wednesday will go down as one of the darkest days in American history.
It was all egged on by a sitting president, who has been unable to accept losing his bid for reelection and who persuaded millions of his followers to buy into baseless, debunked and disproved conspiracy theories.
The result: A mob violently storming and occupying the U.S. Capitol for hours, while staffers and lawmakers were evacuated or hid in fear. The vice president was also rushed from the floor of the Senate and taken to a secure location after criticisms were tweeted from his boss.

Protestors gather outside the Capitol building in Washington DC
Protests turned to riots, and the events that followed shocked many people, not just in the USA, but around the world.
As the home of America s democracy, the Capitol building is where the United States Congress meet to write laws for the country. A bit like the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London, where MPs meet here in the UK.
