Alabama U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville and U.S. House member Mo Brooks followed through on their pledges to protest the certification of the Electoral College vote for President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. Their action took place following what’s being called the first breach of the U.S. Capitol since the War of 1812. Republican Brooks announced just after 11:00 pm EST that he and colleagues proceeded with their objection of the Electoral College votes in Nevada. Facebook bans Trump indefinitely following US Capitol riots
Facebook has banned President Donald Trump from using its social platforms indefinitely, founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Thursday morning.
That includes Instagram, where Trump has more than 24 million followers, and Trump s Facebook page, which has around 36 million followers.
The move comes one day after Facebook and Twitter set temporary bans on Trump as many of his supporters breached the US Capitol in a riot that sent shock waves across America, delaying the Electoral College vote in the House chamber for hours.
Zuckerberg issued a statement Thursday, saying Trump s decision to use his platform to condone rather than condemn the actions of his supporters at the Capitol building has rightly disturbed people in the US and around the world.
