Despite COVID-19 & Economic Downturns, Religious Charities Working Overseas Keep the Faith
(RNS) Like many nonprofits, Catholic Relief Services, the 77-year-old global humanitarian aid organization founded by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, saw donations tumble in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. But the downturn didn’t last.
“People are most generous during a crisis,” said Bill O’Keefe, executive vice-president for Mission, Mobilization, and Advocacy for the organization.

Members of the Massachusetts delegation are siding with President Donald Trump in his call to give Americans more money as people continue to grapple with the economic fallout from the pandemic.
Trump blasted Congress’ massive $900 billion COVID-19 relief package in a video he posted on social media Tuesday night, suggesting he may not sign the legislation and demanding changes his fellow Republicans have opposed. He called on lawmakers to increase stimulus payments for most Americans from $600 to $2,000 for individuals and $4,000 for couples.
Meanwhile Democrats, including those that represent the Bay State, are responding in a chorus of support. They re saying that this is what they ve been asking for all along.

Amazingly, she also asked Harris how she was fighting the anti-vaccine “propaganda” from the right, completely ignoring how Harris herself spread anti-vaccine propaganda before the election.
After starting off the interview with a gooey question: (“Have you had the opportunity to even take it in, the history that you have now made?”) Reid immediately dove into what she does best, bashing Republicans. She began by attacking Republican politicians getting the vaccine:
