The Orange Democratic Movement leader said so in apparent reference to remarks by Deputy President William Ruto.
The DP and his allies, while wooing supporters ahead of the 2022 General Election, have told them not to trust “
mganga ( a witchdoctor)” and “
Mr Odinga said, “They keep calling me
mganga. I am not a witch doctor. I’m a Christian who attends church services regularly but I do not boast about it.”
The ODM boss noted that several miracles have taken place in his life and that he cannot embrace “the dark forces of witchcraft”.
“What I do not like doing is boasting about my Christianity. I pray that God may help unite our country.”
Others are Stephen Nyakeriga (The New Democrats) and Daniel Ondabu of the Party of Economic Development (PED). Both PED and UDA parties are associated with Deputy President William Ruto. Nyandusi who is running on the UDA ticket has had his campaigns led by Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, South Mugirango Mp Sylvanus Osoro and Charles Nyacahe.
On the other hand, PED’s candidate Ondabu has the support of former Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director Eng Daniel Manduku.
Ondabu, Nyandusi and ODM’s Matara are leading in the campaigns. Matara says he has the backing of the youths in the coming mini polls.

Deputy President William Ruto.
There was confusion yesterday on whether Deputy President William Ruto’s office had requested for hundreds of copies of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Bill from the government printer.
Ruto has been ambivalent on whether he supports the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2020, which seeks to change the 2010 law, maintaining that it is not a priority for the country.
But according to a letter dated February 24 sent to the government printer, and whose copy The Standard has, the office of the DP, through an official who made the request on behalf of the secretary administration, requested to be issued with 400 copies of the summary of the Constitution Amendment Bill, 2020, and the Proposed BBI Legislative Bills (copies) together with the Abridged Report of the same for perusal and dissemination.
