Deputy Prime Minister Dan Barna says he has gotten from the media information in connection with the control note of Romania s Anti-Fraud Department (DLAF) and that according to it, he is blamed for the fact that in what regards three recruitment forms, the filling in was not done face to face , but subsequently. The conclusions part, at least the one that has reached me, refers to, as far as I am concerned, only this activity of three forms the DLAF counselors deem I shouldn t have filled out, but they make a serious confusion about this. Deputy Prime Minister Dan Barna said on Monday in connection with a possible run for President of Romania in 2024 that if the incumbent Government is successful, he will be in a position where this option will be on the table, otherwise, the chances will be quite small. Let s take things in a natural logic. At the moment, I am a deputy prime minister of the Romanian government and my goal is for this vaccination campaign to be successful and for this government to get Romania out of the pandemic and to put it on a path to growth and economic stability. Depending on the performance of the government, we will also talk about future candidacies, if any. In the short term, this year, we have an incoming convention of the USR PLUS Congress [Save Romania Union - Freedom, Unity and Solidarity Party ] where I want to continue, Barna told Digi24 private broadcaster when asked if he intends to run for president.

Deputy Prime Minister Dan Barna said on Friday in Sibiu that he considers personal responsibility for health to be most important incentive for vaccination against COVID-19, and that the government is discussing operational ways moving forward to increase the impact of the mass vaccination campaign.
He was asked by journalists at a news briefing whether or not the government is discussing financial stimulation for Romanians to get vaccinated. It s a discussion of what models might be operational moving forward to increase the impact of the vaccination campaign. I think personal health responsibility is the most important incentive. Beyond that, once again, using the levers we ve talked about so far, we are looking into alternatives to see what good practices the other countries have, said Barna, co-president of the Save Romania Union - Freedom, Unity and Solidarity Party (USR PLUS) in the ruling coalition.
