Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack has blamed the Andrews government's "snap lockdowns" for its low representation in the 13 destinations included in the $1.2 billion aviation and tourism stimulus package.
"The Victorian government locked down their borders like that. Drop of a hat. Hasty decision. Locked down their borders when they had just a couple of community outbreaks," he said.
"I appreciate last July was very difficult when there was that massive outbreak that cost the lives of more than 800 people. I understand that.
"Whatever we think and say about our premiers, they've done what they thought they needed to do to protect the people in their state, but it's come at a cost. It's come at a cost to business and a cost to livelihoods."
