Dubai Municipality, MBRSC to launch region’s first environmental nanometric satellite on 20 March
DUBAI, 10th March, 2021 (WAM) Dubai Municipality, in collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), has announced that it is preparing to launch the DMSat-1 satellite, the region’s first environmental nanometric satellite, on 20th March, 2021.
The launch is part of a high-technology project undertaken to develop solutions to environmental challenges and address climate change. The satellite will be launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
The rocket will be launched at 9:07 am Moscow time (10:07 am UAE time). The satellite is expected to separate from the launch vehicle into its orbit at 2:20 pm (UAE Time), and send its first signal at 3:00 pm (UAE Time).

Saeed Al Tayer meets British Minister for Exports Video Image
DUBAI, 8th March, 2021 (WAM) Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has met with Graham Stuart, Minister for Exports at the Department for International Trade, at the UK Embassy in Dubai.
Simon Penney, UK Trade Commissioner for the Middle East and Consul General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, attended the meeting. Both parties discussed bilateral cooperation on energy and water. During the visit, both Graham Stuart and Saeed Al Tayer inaugurated the electric vehicle charging station at the Embassy.
Al Tayer reaffirmed the strong relations between the UK and the UAE. The meeting discussed ways to increase cooperation, and the contribution of British companies to energy and water projects in Dubai and the UAE. It also discussed aspects of strategic cooperation
