The 46-year-old man is in custody, Thames Valley Police s Major Crime Unit said on Sunday afternoon.
Officers were called around 10.10am this morning to the house in Emerson Valley, Milton Keynes.
The deceased and injured woman was found at the address in the leafy suburb. The house sits down a quite close, around three miles from the city centre and less than two miles from Bletchley.
