Four new cases of COVID-19 reported in Akwesasne

Monday, February 1, 2021 - 4:45 pm AKWESASNE The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting four new cases of COVID-19 today (Monday, Feb. 1), which makes ten total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. The EOC said nine infected community members have resolved over the weekend, however, 64 remain in quarantine. The slight decrease in total active cases is improvement, but the number of community members in quarantine indicates that direct exposures are still taking place, the tribe said. As a result, the EOC urges individuals to limit direct contact with those who do not reside in your immediate household. With the upcoming Super Bowl and St. Patrick’s Day, community members are advised to avoid uncontrolled events and private gatherings where no safety measures are being practiced.
