Norms relaxed for Family Pension to disabled survivors: Dr Jitendra
NEW DELHI: In a path-breaking reform to bring ease of living, particularly for the disabled, the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare today issued orders relaxing norms for Family Pension to disabled surviving child/sibling of a deceased government servant, in order to enable him or her to receive the pension by liberalising the income criteria of eligibility for Family Pension.
Briefing about this decision, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that a child child/sibling of a deceased Government servant/pensioner, who is suffering from a mental or physical disability, shall be eligible for family pension for life, if his/her overall income, other than family pension, is less than the entitled family pension at ordinary rate i.e. 30% of the last pay drawn by
