LOWER TOWNSHIP The parents of a toddler who died after falling into a campground septic tank the night before Easter are suing, saying that the lid was unsecured.

BOSTON – A state board has launched a formal effort to assess ways to boost public awareness of energy facility siting proposals, describing it as a step toward a “more just and equitable clean energy future.”
The Energy Facilities Siting Board voted last Wednesday to issue a notice of inquiry and the Baker administration on Thursday publicized the decision and said it would supplement a companion order issued in the spring by the Department of Public Utilities.
“Through these investigations, the EFSB and DPU will explore opportunities to boost stakeholder engagement and ensure that all people have been provided with the same opportunity to participate in EFSB and DPU proceedings, regardless of English language proficiency,” the siting board said. Written comments are due by Sept. 10.

New Jersey wants to convert more trucks to electric power.
The state is stepping up efforts to build the charging infrastructure needed to transition from diesel-belching trucks to zero-emission vehicles a shift aimed at cleaning up polluted air in many urban areas and reducing climate-warming emissions.
A straw proposal released last week by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities shows the agency wants to establish a comprehensive system for public access to charging stations on travel corridors and at workplaces. Those charging stations would help boost the numbers of electric medium- and heavy-duty trucks, as well as light-duty vehicles.
