Wallingford PD: Cops Who Served Program Announced

UpdatedTue, May 11, 2021 at 3:09 pm ET Reply May 11, 2021 The Wallingford Police Department is announcing a new program in which its police officers, who are military veterans, or are currently serving in a reserve capacity, can wear a pin on their uniform, which indicates they are a military veteran. Subscribe The idea is that while the officers are on duty and are dealing with, or interacting with, a military veteran or other current service member, the officer can be identified by that citizen and hopefully form an instant bond and/or rapport. This helps tremendously when trying to achieve a positive outcome for that veteran and their family by providing referrals to services provided by the Town Veteran s Service Office or the Department of Veteran s Affairs.

Down payments were typically 50 percent of the purchase price, loan terms seldom exceeded 10 years, and balloon payments were the order of the day. It wasn’t until the passage of the Federal Home Loan Bank Act of 1932 that the mortgages we take for granted today began to emerge as part of President Roosevelt’s New Deal. Two years later, the Federal Housing Administration was established. FHA’s mission is to insure lenders who make FHA loans against losses they may suffer in the event a borrower defaults.

Carter Mecher had only ever wanted to be a doctor. He d grown up in a big, working-class family in Chicago where his toolmaker father had encouraged him to tackle problems with the same confidence that he shaped steel. Carter s mind would lock into a problem in the same way it did when he was fixing a car engine. That was when he was at his best. An inability to pay attention to anything except that which you find totally riveting might not sound the most promising trait in a medical student. But almost by process of elimination, it led Carter to his calling: critical care.
