A MAN was left with nine scars on his leg after a black labrador on a lead bit him while he was cycling near Dunkerrin, Tullamore District Court heard.
In a victim impact report, the man said he no longer felt able to go out cycling because he found it too difficult to pass a house with a loose dog.
The detailed victim impact report was ordered after Mary Fogarty, 59, Cloneganna, Roscrea, pleaded guilty to having an uncontrolled dog at Cloneganna, Dunkerrin on November 21, 2019.

An Offaly woman pleaded guilty to assaulting another woman in a local pub, during last week s sitting of Tullamore District Court.
Melanie Kane, 14 Esker Court, Clara committed the offence on September 5 last in Dolan s pub, The Square, Clara.
Sgt James O Sullivan told the court that CCTV footage showed the defendant following the injured party into the ladies toilet.
“What the CCTV footage did not capture was the defendant following the injured party into a toilet cubicle,” said the Sergeant, “and assaulting the injured party.”
The Sergeant said the injured party had bruising after the assault, and some of her hair was subsequently found on the floor.
Motorist sentenced to three months imprisonment after Offaly traffic accident

An Offaly man was sentenced to three months imprisonment and disqualified from holding a driving licence for four years, during a recent sitting of Tullamore District Court.
Colin Hanniffy, Leabeg, Tullamore was charged with dangerous driving, drink driving and failing to remain at the scene.
Sgt James O Sullivan told the court that just outside Boora village on December 29 last, Mr Hanniffy nearly collided with another vehicle, drove into a ditch, got out of his crashed vehicle, got into another vehicle belonging to him which was parked nearby and drove off. The sergeant said the other driver had to swerve out of the way just before the defendant drove into the ditch. “His jeep was driving on the wrong side of the road.”

TULLAMORE District Court was told a man who had been in foster care when he was a child now suffered mental health difficulties and was self medicating with cannabis.
Francis Sherlock, 30, of 43 Glendaniel, Tullamore, admitted having cannabis herb for sale or supply at Henry Apartments, Church Street, Clara on June 12 last year.
Mr Sherlock also pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis herb at 43 Glendaniel on February 15 last.
Sergeant James O Sullivan said 16 grams of cannabis worth €260, weighing scales and a mobile phone were found when the premises at Church Street in Clara was searched.
