Now, for the first time since the Queen Anne-style home was added to the National Registry of Historic Places in 1976, there are plans for an addition to the property — a structure dubbed “Pop’s Chicken House,” which will sit on the foundation of the original building. Preliminary plans for the building include public restrooms, an event and gallery space and kitchen facilities. The building’s glass doors will open onto a wooden deck that will overlook the verdant grounds.
