(KSLA) - The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is teaming up with the Drug Enforcement Administration to lead a Drug Take Back Day. They are asking residents to discard unused prescription drugs at three drop-off locations on Saturday, April 24. The boxes are located at the Bi-State Justice Center, the Miller County Detention Center and the Texarkana Emergency Center. Drug drop-off in Texarkana Sgt. Rick Cockrell with TAPD said this is a way to keep illegal prescription drugs off the streets and provide a measure of safety for children.

Man arrested by TAPD after car chase

KTOY Texarkana Arkansas police arrested a man yesterday after a lengthy car chase through Texarkana into Genoa and back. On 4-20-2021, Lt. Rob Hadaway attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 4000 block of South Lake Drive. The driver of the vehicle fled from law enforcement instead. A lengthy pursuit traveled into rural south Texarkana TX and AR, Genoa AR, and back into Texarkana AR before the driver turned down a cul-de-sac in the 3000 block of Locust Street. The driver then backed his vehicle into a Bowie County Sheriff’s Office patrol unit causing minor property damage. The driver, identified as Bryan Russell Yeager, was arrested by the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department for two outstanding felony warrants and Felony Fleeing. Area law enforcement and DEA teaming up for Drug Take Back Day

Hot FM The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department and Wake Village Police are getting the word out early for the Drug Take-Back Program coming up on Saturday, April 24, 2021 DEA National Drug Take Back is coming up in two weeks. Police say nationwide 9.7 million people misused prescription pain relievers, and 5.9 million people misused prescription tranquilizers or sedatives in 2019. Wake Village Police Department is partnering with the DEA on National Takeback Weekend April 24th from 10am-2pm. The DEA will be at the Wake Village police parking lot so you can drive through and get rid of your old medicine. In Texarkana, officers will be present at Texarkana Emergency Center located at 4646 Cowhorn Creek Rd in Texarkana, Texas. The officers will begin receiving drop-offs at 8:00 am and end at 12:00 (Noon.) If this time frame does not work for some, the drug drop-off bins are always available at three locations in our area. Texarkana Arkansas Police Department Drug Take-Back Day April 24 The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is gearing up for the Drug Take-Back Program on Saturday, April 24. Texarkana Arkansas Police Department has joined forces with the Drug Enforcement Agency to make sure that all drugs received will be properly disposed safely. Officers will be present at Texarkana Emergency Center located at 4646 Cowhorn Creek Road for drop-offs beginning at 8 AM until Noon April 24. If for some reason, this is not a good time for you there will be drug drop-off bins available at three locations in Texarkana, the Bi-State Center, and the Miller County Sheriff’s Office and the Texarkana Emergency Center.
