Legislators have sponsored more than a dozen abortion bills for the 2021 session. Members introduced a bill that would ban abortion after a doctor can detect a fetal heartbeat — usually around six weeks, when many women don’t yet know they’re pregnant. Another bill would restrict which doctors can perform the procedure.

For Southeastern Oklahoma State University student Emily Dahl, her way of writing her history is looking through the lens of her camera that she uses capturing the beauty of the world and the people in it.  Dahl had always been in love with taking photos since she was a little girl. National Geographic was a huge inspiration for her, and her grandmother gave her a subscription to their magazine and she always impatiently waited for the next issue.

Cove runner valued faith when selecting college

When considering her options for where to attend college and continue her track and cross country career, Copperas Cove High School senior Breonna Reese had on priority in mind: Her Christian faith. On Feb. 3, Reese joined six of her peers and signed a letter of intent to compete at Abilene Christian University in Abilene. “I feel like that was really important that I choose a school that will lift me up academically and spiritually, so that was really one of the main focuses,” Reese said in a phone interview on Feb. 13. Describing Abilene Christian as a “dream school,” Reese said she fell in love with the community feel of the campus and what the school stood for.
