Alabama junior relief pitcher Chase Lee was drafted No. 164 overall in the 2021 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers. The Rangers picked Lee with the second pick in the sixth round. Lee was Alabama s third player drafted in this year s draft and was the highest Crimson Tide relief pitcher selected since Thomas Burrows was drafted in the fourth round in 2014.

A former walk-on, Lee developed himself into a quality relief pitcher for the Tide. In three seasons on the mound, Lee amassed a 1.87 ERA. In 49 career appearances he holds an unblemished 9-0 record and nine saves.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Florida State softball pitcher, Kathryn Sandercock, was named an NFCA Second Team All-American as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Wednesday. She becomes the Seminoles’ 35th All-American totaling 52 All-American honors. Sandercock heads into the 2021 Women’s College World Series leading the Seminoles in wins, ERA and innings pitched. She has appeared in 35 games this season with 33 starts and a 24-2 record. Sandercock has a 1.09 ERA while allowing her opponents to hit just .179 against her in 147.1 innings of work. Kathryn Sandercock’s 1.09 ERA ranks eighth in the nation amongst pitchers who threw more than 140 innings. Her .923 winning percentage ranks third-best in the country. She threw the first nine complete games of her career this season, including ones against Virginia Tech, Florida, Arizona, Duke, UCF and LSU.
