KAMLOOPS A police operation in Valleyview Thursday (Jan. 7) ended up yielding guns and a large quantities of drugs from other locations.
Executing a search warrant, officers found evidence leading them to an address in Sun Rivers and a storage locker on the Tk’emlups reserve.
The searches yielded more than five kilograms of cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl. Three guns, body armour and a large amount of Canadian cash were also seized.
One man was arrested but later released without charge.
January 07, 2021 - 11:32 AM Kamloops RCMP are reporting a heavy police presence in the west Valleyview area of the city and urging the public to avoid the area. According to a Kamloops RCMP media release, officers are at an address in west Valleyview along with the Southeast District Emergency Response Team as part of an ongoing drug investigation. RCMP say no danger is expected to the public but is asking residents to avoid the area while the police are in the area. The RCMP say traffic may be temporarily rerouted in the area. No more information was given and the RCMP says more details will be provided when they become available.
