Mu Traw District Incident Report: Two villagers were seriously injured as a result of landmine explosions in Dwe Lo Township, Mu Traw District, June 2021

This Incident Report describes events that occurred in Dwe Lo Township, Mu Traw (Hpapun) District in June 2021. On June 20th 2021 and June 22nd 2021, two villagers living in A -village, Hpapun Town, Dwe Lo Township, Mu Traw District were independently injured after stepping on landmines outside of their village. They both sustained serious injuries. The male victim was treated at Hpa-an Public Hospital and the female victim at Mawlamyine Public Hospital.

Dooplaya District Interview: Fighting between SAC troops and other armed groups resulted in villagers’ displacement, Kaw K’Reik Township, Dooplaya District, June 1st 2021
Format
This interview describes events that occurred in Kaw T’Ree Township, Dooplaya District on June 1st 2021, where fighting between several armed groups [Border Guard Force (BGF), State Administration Council (SAC) military and DKBA splinter group] resulted in the displacement of villagers. The most affected village was U -, wherein over 400 people were forced to flee. In addition, more than ten villagers’ houses were destroyed along with a school during the fighting and indiscriminate shelling. Fearing SAC troops, some villagers fled and took refuge at the Thai-Burma border, in forests, river banks and other villages. They spent four days fleeing from the fighting. On June 5th 2021, the displaced villagers were able to return home.
Doo Tha Htoo Short Update: Looting by BGF and SAC soldiers, June 21st 2021

This Short Update describes events that occurred in Hp-an Township, Doo Tha Htoo (Thaton) District on June 21st 2021. Following a skirmish between the Karen National Union (KNLA) and State Administration Council (SAC) and Border Guard Force (BGF) troops outside of L - village, T’Kaw Boe village tract, Hpa-an Township, SAC and BGF soldiers engaged in the looting of villagers’ homes while the villagers had fled to the nearby forest for safety.[1]
