According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an SUV, driven by a 27-year-old woman from Ochopee, was traveling west on US-41, approaching Loop Road in Big Cypress National Park around 10:55 p.m. A second vehicle, of unknown make and model, was also traveling west on US-41, directly in front of the SUV. The driver of the SUV was inattentive, and the front of it collided with the rear of the second vehicle.

Police: Weapon used in Marco Island shooting in late March was a pellet-type gun, not a firearm Jake Allen, Naples Daily News An investigation into a Marco Island shooting that occurred in late March has revealed that the weapon used was a pellet-type gun and not a firearm, according to the Marco Island Police Department.   Rescue workers took one person to the hospital on the evening of March 30 with a hand injury after the shooting, according to the police department.   The shooting occurred in the area of 2nd Avenue and Marco Lake Drive around 8 p.m., police said.

Wisdael Torres Jr., 38, has made threats of self-harm and harm to others, LCSO said. He was last seen Saturday evening leaving a home in the 4600 Block of Karen Avenue in Lehigh Acres. Torres Jr. is described as a Hispanic male who is 5’11” and weighs 187 pounds. He was last seen wearing jean shorts and sneakers. Nicholas was wanted for failure to register as a sexual offender. He was convicted of lewd and lascivious behavior for harassing a 13-year-old girl at the apartment complex where they both lived.​ According to deputies, while the victim was walking home one day, Nicholas pulled her into his apartment and tried to rape her, while committing lewd acts.
