Chaos erupted after online guidance told people they could only make essential trips to and from Bolton, Blackburn with Darwen, Kirklees, Bedford, Burnley, Leicester, Hounslow and North Tyneside.
Currently, there are no patients with coronavirus in any hospitals in Oxfordshire. The UK has recorded a further nine Covid-related deaths and 3,180 new cases with 115 patients admitted to hospital, Public Health England confirmed. The health body recently changed the way it records the figures. Cases identified through a positive lateral flow test – those which can deliver results within half an hour – will no longer be counted if the person then takes a PCR test, which is sent to a lab to be checked, and receives a negative result within three days. The latest data shows that more than 72.9 per cent of the population has received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, while nearly 44.8 per cent have received their second.
