The recognition was given to McDonald during the association s annual meeting held in Fargo.

MC Board expected to confirm Tanzyus and Bethel as replacements for Hulme and Dorman

Dave Tanzyus will be appointed Madison County administrator at a special board meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday. A former aide to Republican Congressman Mike Bost, Tanzyus has been serving in Chairman Kurt Prenzler s administration since December when the board confirmed his appointment as community development administrator. With 30 years of government experience, Tanzyus will fill the seat that had been occupied by administrator Doug Hulme, who was terminated by the county board last April. Prenzler also will appoint Chris Bethel as IT director. Bethel started working for IT in January 2017, under former director Rob Dorman, whom the county board also terminated last April. Bethel began as a project manager, then became manager of network services.

Foltz family files wrongful death suit in Franklin County By Marie Thomas-Baird - mthomas@aimmediamidwest.com COLUMBUS The law firm representing the family of Stone Foltz has filed a civil lawsuit in Franklin County. Cooper Elliott, who represents the Foltz family, on Tuesday filed a civil complaint in Franklin County Common Pleas Court seeking damages for the wrongful death of Foltz. Foltz, a sophomore at the Bowling Green State University, died in March from alcohol poisoning after excessive drinking, allegedly at an off-campus fraternity event. He was a 2019 Buckeye Valley High School graduate. The family is asking for minimum compensatory damages of $25,000 for each claim; however, the family will seek a judgment substantially more at trial.

EUP students receive Principals Award

EUP students receive Principals Award The winners of the 2021 Eastern Upper Peninsula Principals’ Awards have been announced. In order to be eligible for this award, students need to have a 3.3 grade point average or higher, a 24 on the ACT or a 1180 on the SAT and be a graduate of an Eastern Upper Peninsula high school. These students are recognized at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. In previous years, students needed to achieve an SAT score of 1200 in addition to the other requirements in order to receive this award. Local students include those from Brimley, Cedarville, Ojibwe Charter School, Rudyard, Pickford, St. Ignace, Engadine, Newberry, Whitefish, Mackinac Island and the Sault.
