Comrade Jonathan Asake, the President of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, SOKAPU, has alleged that the present administration has a plan called the ‘fulanization agenda’ to sub-plan indigenous communities in Nigeria and bring in Fulani communities to change the demography of the country. He noted that something strange is happening, and it is a clear agenda in the country by the present government to change the demography in some states and some communities in Nigeria. Speaking to DAILY POST in Kaduna on Monday, Asake said, “It is a sad situation in our beloved country Nigeria and unfortunate that our founding will wake up and see the mess that is going on in the country that we found ourselves. They will be heartbroken, particularly, the spate of insecurity that has engulfed the country.”

Ensure mental stability of Nigerians - Cleric tells govt

The federal government has been urged to address the economic and security challenge facing the country, to ensure that the mental stability of the people is optimal. The Country Director, Global Peace Foundation in Nigeria, Rev. Joseph John Hayab, while addressing youth on ‘Mental Stability’ in Kaduna on Saturday, said the present challenges facing Nigeria calls for government attention. He, however, appealed to Nigerians to see themselves as members of the same family created by God. “We should in all circumstances be our brother keepers so that together we move forward as a people in the same land.” Rev. Hayab enjoined the youth not to do anything detrimental to their future but called on them to strive at all times to engage themselves in profitable ventures that would earn them a better living tomorrow.

Deji Elumoye in Abuja and John Shiklam in Kaduna President Muhammadu Buhari has flayed the reported cases of ethnic violence across the country, saying his government will protect all religious and ethnic groups in line with the provisions of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended. Buhari, in a statement last night by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, vowed that his government will protect all religious and ethnic groups, whether majority or minority in line with its responsibility under the constitution. Reacting to reports of the breakout of violence in some parts of the country by some ethnic and sectional groups, the president warned that the government will not allow any ethnic or religious group to stoke up hatred and violence against other groups.
