OVER 800 people ventured to the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (SAPA), San Fernando on Monday to get the covid19 vaccine despite heavy rain.
When Newsday visited, many people were running or briskly walking to shelter under the white tents where they had to be screened.
Around noon, an official told Newsday they had already seen at least 400 people with appointments thus far. Nobody leaves without an appointment.So if people walk in, if they aren t able to get the vaccine today, we take their information and set an appointment for them.

Speaking at a press conference via Zoom this morning, Chutney Soca Monarch founder George Singh said over the last 10 years of producing the CSM, producers have noticed a trend that has proven that the bigger audience looking at the competition has not been the live audience, but the online audience that can vary from 100,000 live viewers to more than one million viewers over the first month that the event stays online.
He said the audience comes from all parts of the world such as the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom and the Caribbean regions such as Guyana, Suriname and Barbados.
