South Zanesville PD takes part in Light Ohio Blue
MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The South Zanesville Police Department has joined the Light Ohio Blue campaign to show support for all law enforcement personnel.
National Police Week is next week, May 9-16. Community members, residents and businesses are encouraged to show support for officers who have died in the line of duty and those currently serving.
“During Light Ohio Blue week we’d like to have folks of our community to head to their local hardware store, pick up a few of the blue light bulbs, replace them with your current exterior lighting and shine those bright lights for the family of the blue,” South Zanesville Police Chief Mark Ross said.

South Zanesville Traffic Stop Turns into Drug Bust
The South Zanesville Police Department says a weekend traffic stop turned into a drug bust. Chief Mark Ross says patrol officer Dakota Mascher stopped a vehicle with fictitious license plates. The Chief says Mascher recovered over 240 grams of meth, 11 grams of cocaine and 35 grams of fentanyl. The officer also found a loaded firearm. The incident is under investigation with the assistance of the Muskingum County/Zanesville City Joint Drug Unit. Once the investigation is completed the incident will be taken to the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office for charges. The name of the driver was not released.

Police searching for missing South Zanesville teen
Nevaeh Robinson was reported missing Tuesday when she didn t show up to school
She is described as 5-foot-2, 111 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.
According to Chief Mark Ross, Robinson may be wearing a pink, gray and black North Face jacket and carrying a pink and tan backpack.
Robinson has a piercing on the left side of her nose.
She is believed to be in the Columbus area.
