May 20, 2021 Share The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has urged to Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Anil Baijal to ask the Delhi government to release ₹549.62 crores to the civic agency which had been recovered by the Delhi government on account of retrospective implementation of the 5th Delhi Finance Commission (DFC) in the last two years. In a letter to the Delhi LG, South Delhi mayor Anamika Mithilesh said, “We are working with fewer resources and still managing to operate vaccination centres and Covid care facilities. Deduction in our due share by the Delhi government is painful.” The mayor, in her letter, said that the SDMC was receiving a grant from Delhi Government as per the accepted recommendations of the third DFC till the financial year 2018-19.
