CMPD: Detectives Classify The Homicide Of A 16-Year-Old In South Charlotte As Justified

Detectives with CMPD say the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Vontairius Doster in south Charlotte has been classified as a justified homicide.
Officials with the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office say after reviewing the case they concur with the detectives’ decision not to charge anyone in this case.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating after a 16-year-old was shot and killed in south Charlotte early Monday morning. This is the fourth homicide investigation since Saturday night.
Officers responded to Southside Homes Apartment complex, on Griffith Street, around 1:55 a.m. in response to an Assault with Deadly Weapon call, police say. Upon arrival, officers learned from bystanders that a teenage victim had already been transported to the hospital for a gunshot wound.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - No charges will be filed in a shooting that killed a 16-year-old in Charlotteâs South End over the summer.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say the killing of Vontairius Doster has been classified by detectives as a justified homicide.
Doster was fatally shot on July 13 at the Southside Homes Apartment complex off Griffith Street.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call just before 2 a.m. at the apartment complex. Officers say Doster had already been taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound when police arrived. Medical staff later pronounced Doster dead.
