New Dean to Lead Clarkson s School of Arts & Sciences

Release Date Dr. Darryl Scriven Following a national search, Dr. Darryl Scriven has been appointed Dean of Clarkson University’s School of Arts & Sciences and Fellow in the Shipley Center for Innovation, effective April 4, 2021. Scriven is currently the Dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, Business, and Education as well as the John W. and Anna H. Hanes Distinguished Professor in the Humanities at Winston-Salem State University. He is also a Non-Resident Visiting Scholar at the Tuskegee University National Center for Bioethics in Research and Health Care and Chair of the Academic Review Committee for the Journal of Healthcare, Science, and the Humanities since 2015.

Black nurses seek mental health support during the pandemic CNN 2/22/2021 By Megan Marples, CNN © Provided by CNN Olivia Thompson and Trilby Barnes are two nurses working through the stresses the pandemic while trying to take care of their mental health. Throughout Olivia Thompson s 12-hour shift as a cardiac and Covid-19 nurse in Chandler, Arizona, she closely monitors the oxygen levels of several patients at a time and works with other medical specialists to heal them. For some, no amount of care Thompson gives prevents them from being transferred to the Intensive Care Unit. There were times where I was dreading going to work because of the unknown, Thompson said. Am I going to be a good nurse for my patients? Am I going to make a mistake?
