500,000 priority individuals for COVID vaccination identified in Davao City

Published February 17, 2021, 8:26 AM DAVAO CITY – The City of Davao will need to vaccinate a total of 531,673 individuals who comprise the local government’s priority sector in its coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination program, Davao City Health Office (CHO) acting head Dr. Ashley Lopez said on Tuesday.   In his presentation during the Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (C.O.D.E.) Team visit at the A. Mabini Elementary School in Barangay Talomo, Lopez said of the total individuals in the government’s top priority list, the city has identified 16,677 frontline health workers, 77,189 senior citizens, 432,549 indigents, and 5,258 security personnel.   He said the health workers in the COVID-19 referral hospitals, including government-run Southern Philippines Medical Center and other private hospitals, will be the first to receive the vaccines, and those workers in the quarantine isolation facilities that include the temporary treatment and monitoring facilitie

DLPC assures stable power during vaccination

Fermin Edillon, DLPC Reputation Enhancement Department manager, said in a press conference on Wednesday, February 17, that there is no threat of a possible power outage as there is ample supply for the entire city. Atong (Our) supply is enough to cover the requirement, not only sa (in) Davao City, but the entire Davao Light franchise area, Edillon said, adding they are also covering some areas of Davao del Norte like Panabo, Sto. Tomas, Dujali, and Carmen.

Ayala Group donates COVID testing kits to QC

Published February 18, 2021, 6:00 AM The Ayala Group of Companies, through the Ayala Foundation, has donated testing kits and other medical supplies to Quezon City to boost the testing capacity of the country’s biggest city. In a statement, the conglomerate said QC Mayor Joy Belmonte received P4.5 million worth of supplies that would further expand the city’s mass testing efforts. Partners in this effort are Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship Foundation, Inc., who led the Pooled PCR Testing Program with QC LGU; and Assurance Controls Technologies Co., Inc., who assured the efficient supply of needed test materials and consumables to the accredited laboratories for the Pooled PCR testing.

Pfizer vaccine to benefit frontliners in 34 hospitals

SunStar File February 15, 2021 DEPARTMENT of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire on Monday, February 15, 2021, said healthcare frontliners from 34 hospitals will receive the 117,000 doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). Of the 34 hospitals, 32 are in Metro Manila. The two others are the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City and the Southern Philippines Medical Center in Davao City. As of Monday, Vergeire said most of these 34 hospitals have submitted their verified lists of priority recipients as well as quick substitution lists. “Meron lang pong mga hospital na yung kanilang quick substitution list ay hindi pa po kumpleto, kaya kino-kumpleto lang sa ngayon (Some hospitals are still completing their quick subsitution lists),” Vergeire said in a virtual press briefing.
