Hyderabad, May 6 : Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Thursday visited an urban primary health centre in Hyderabad to see the functioning of the Covid outpatient services.
The state government has already launched Covid outpatient services in all the government hospitals, primary health centres and sub centres and across the state.
The chief secretary went around the urban primary health centre at Boggulakunta and enquired about the arrangements made for outpatient services. Doctors informed him that regular services are being provided in the health centre while Covid outpatient services are being provided in a community hall nearby. This is being done to avoid crowding.

Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar expressed confidence that COVID-19 cases were reduced in the last 10 days and reiterated that the curve was flattening. The Chief Secretary also said that a door-to-door survey was going on in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits as well as several districts, where a high number of Covid-19 cases have been reported.
In the GHMC area itself, health workers have identified nearly 1,500 people with fever and Covid symptoms for checkups and tests.
Andhra Pradesh has also done door-to-door surveys in the past few days to identify over 32,000 individuals with influenza-like symptoms as well as people with travel history.

As per the orders of Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, a door-to-door survey has been taken up in the GHMC limits. A total of 641 teams, comprising field-level workers from the GHMC and the Health Department, covered 40,000 households in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits.
A total of 1,487 individuals were found to have fever and other Covid-19 symptoms. The individuals were given Covid kits and have been advised to stay in home isolation.
The teams of field level workers comprise an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), an Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), and an official from the Entomology wing of the GHMC.

Telangana s Chief Secretary ruled out a state-wide curfew, saying the situation in the state is better.
The administration, according to the Chief Secretary, has testing kits on hand and is in the process of establishing new RT-PCR testing centres in all districts.
Hyderabad: Trying to assuage fears of an impending lockdown, Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar said the state government was not in favor of such steps because they were unlikely to achieve the desired results.
He added that the government was taking every possible step to monitor the spread of Covid-19 in the state and that Telangana s situation was much better than that of many other states, including Telangana s neighbors.
