When Marie Fenlon took on the role of manager of Mallow s Le Chéile Centre at Bathview in April 2001, it was a Creche and Counselling Service established by the Sisters of Mercy in the town.
Twenty years later, as Marie embarks on her retirement this week, the Le Chéile Centre offers a range of services for local families from a new campus in Fair Street thanks to her efforts and leadership throughout her tenure.

Childcare staff should be prioritised in the Covid-19 vaccine programme according to the Family Resource Centres National Forum (FRCNF) which as called on Laois TDs to get behind their campaign.
The national representative body for Family Resource Centres (FRCs) in Ireland, says the Covid-19 vaccine priority rollout includes childcare and early years educators in group 11 out of 15. The Forum wants childcare workers to be move up the queue to be vaccinated a the same time as healthcare workers not in direct patient contact.

Childcare staff should be prioritised in the national vaccine rollout according to The Family Resource Centres National Forum (FRCNF).
The organisation is calling on Kilkenny TDs to pledge their support to prioritising childcare workers in the vaccine rollout. There are four FRCs based in Kilkenny. Together they employ fifty childcare staff who care for over 300 children.
Currently, the Covid-19 vaccine priority rollout includes childcare and early years educators in group 11 out of 15. The FRCNF is calling on the Government to move their access to vaccines to allocation group 4, alongside ‘other healthcare workers not in direct patient contact’.
