Angelina County commissioner indicted on third-degree felony charge Bobby Cheshire By KTRE Digital Media Staff | May 18, 2021 at 3:25 PM CDT - Updated May 19 at 3:26 AM ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Angelina County Commissioner Bobby Cheshire was indicted today on a third-degree felony charge. Visiting prosecutor Rob Freyer told KTRE that Cheshire received an indictment of Continuous Family Violence, which could result in a prison sentence of between two and 10 years, as well as a maximum fine of $10,000. Four additional misdemeanor charges are pending. According to an arrest affidavit KTRE obtained in August of 2019, Angelina County deputies responded to Cheshire’s home the night of Aug. 20 after a 911 call which investigators say was immediately disconnected. The affidavit states operators called the number back and a woman said everything was “okay for now” but the woman sounded “shaky.” The affidavit states a deputy went to the home and met with the woman

John Paul Garza is facing two charges of Continuous Family Violence and Violation of a Protective Order. Author: KENS 5 Updated: 1:05 PM CST December 28, 2020 SAN ANTONIO Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar provided details regarding an off-duty deputy arrest that happened Sunday night. The news conference took place Monday afternoon on Zoom. Salazar has identified the deputy as 31-year-old John Paul Garza. He s been with BCSO since 2012. He is facing two charges of Continuous Family Violence and Violation of a Protective Order. Salazar said Garza was involved in a domestic disturbance with his significant other. He described the assault as disturbing, describing how Garza knocked her to the ground and kicked her in the face.
