Infection with Covid-19 has been detected in a cat for first time in Latvia RIGA, Feb 2 (LETA) - Covid-19 infection was detected in a cat for the first time in Latvia, moreover, coronavirus antibodies were found in several more cats, Uga Dumpis, the chief infectologist of the Ministry of Health, revealed at a meeting of the Saeima Social and Labor Affairs Committee on Tuesday. He noted that Latvia is the first country in this part of Europe to detect a cat to be infected with Covid-19. The cat has already left for Estonia, Dumpis said, adding that it had all happened recently. The infectologist said that the samples collected from cat had been tested on January 31.
