DeKALB – The DeKalb Police Department, in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Transportation and other state authorities, will be increasing efforts to crack down on drunk and impaired driving throughout the Christmas season, according to a Thursday news release.
From Friday to Jan. 4, DeKalb Police will be increasing the number of patrols and traffic stops they make, in an effort to combat and deter impaired driving, according to the news release.
A similar campaign on Halloween saw DeKalb Police issued 31 traffic citations and make two arrests. Their campaign efforts over Thanksgiving yielded similar numbers of arrests and citations, according to the news release.
