Treasury Secretary
Steve Mnuchin expects individual payouts tied to the recent $900 billion coronavirus relief package will start being distributed before the end of the year. During a recent interview, Mnuchin said that the $600 checks will arrive via direct deposit beginning December 28. The president wanted direct payments, so we will be sending out next week direct deposit, Mnuchin said. I expect we ll get the money out by the beginning of next week.
The $900 billion coronavirus relief package also includes $15 billion for entertainment venues and movie theaters. As the pandemic surges forward, many entertainment venues have struggled to keep their doors open with concerts, live podcasts, comedy shows and other forms of entertainment. As for movie theaters, many movie studios are pushing to release their biggest films on streaming services due to strict COVID-19 regulations nationwide.
