Geological Survey Of India Executing Seven Lithium Exploration Projects: Govt Tells Parliament by Swarajya Staff - Jul 29, 2021 04:57 AM Lithium Ion battery manufacturing (EV Reporter) - Representative Image The Geological Survey of India has taken up seven projects in 2021-22 for exploration of lithium reserves in various states of the country, the government told the Parliament on Wednesday (28 July). Lithium, a strategically important metal, is a key element for new technologies and finds its use in battery, ceramics, glass, telecommunication and aerospace industries. The well-known uses of Lithium are in Lithium ion batteries, lubricating grease, high energy additive to rocket propellants, optical modulators for mobile phones and as convertor to tritium used as a raw material for thermonuclear reactions i.e. fusion.
